Take Control. Go Electronic.

Upgrade Vessel Engine Controls with the Smart Actuator II™ from Glendinning

The Glendinning Smart Actuator II™ is a proven, field-tested electronic control system that allows boat builders and marine resellers to offer their customers a straightforward retrofit solution — replacing mechanical engine controls with precise, reliable electronic operation across a wide range of inboard, outboard, and stern drive applications.

Designed as a complete, ready-to-install kit supplied under a single part number, the Smart Actuator II simplifies the specification and procurement process. Whether you are fitting out new builds or upgrading existing vessels, the system is engineered to integrate cleanly and commission quickly — with everything required for most installations included in the box.

A Retrofit Solution Built for the Trade
For resellers and boat builders, the Smart Actuator II represents a clean, commercially attractive upgrade path. The kit-based approach reduces complexity at the point of specification: identify the application, select the voltage, choose the control head, and order the station cables. Installation is straightforward, and the CANbus architecture means set-up is fast and reliable.

Kits are available for single and twin engine applications, in both 12V and 24V configurations, covering inboard engines as well as outboard and stern drive setups with trim and troll control options.

Note: The control head and primary station cable are specified and ordered separately, giving full flexibility over helm styling and station layout.

Specify Your System in Four Steps

  1. Identify your application — single or twin engine, inboard, with trim, or with troll control
  2. Select your kit number — available in 12V and 24V
  3. Choose your control head — Genesys™ in black or chrome, or ProGrade Series
  4. Select your station cables — available from 5ft (1.5m) up to 100ft (30.5m), one cable required per station

Control Head Options — Genesys™ & ProGrade Series

Both control head families are built to IP68 watertight standards with dual-channel non-contact sensors and intuitive fingertip operation as standard. The Genesys™ heads feature polished stainless steel handles with a body finish in either black or chrome, offering a professional, versatile aesthetic suited to any helm design. Drag and detent adjustments, dimmable LEDs, and selectable transfer modes provide operators with complete flexibility at every station.

The ProGrade Series offers an alternative styling option, with the same core operational features and watertight IP68 construction.
