Shockwave - Marine Suspension Seating - A New Standard for Comfort and Safety On Board

Inmatech is proud to introduce Shockwave Professional Seats to the Norwegian market‚ the world’s leading marine suspension seating, engineered to protect operators and crew from the shock and impact of wave loading in demanding sea conditions. Shockwave is a Canadian company with a global presence, and has shipped thousands of suspension seats since 2001 from its factory in Sidney, British Columbia.

Whether you operate a RHIB along the Norwegian coast, a cabin boat in heavy weather, or commercial and military vessels under the most demanding conditions ‚ Shockwave has a seat built for your needs.

The Product Range – Three Platforms. One Philosophy.

Shockwave Professional Seats are built around three suspension platforms, all equipped with FOX Float H2O shock absorbers, co-developed with FOX Defence specifically for marine applications:

Helm & Crew Seats

The S2 series is Shockwave’s best-selling professional seat range, covering a broad set of helm and crew seating requirements. All S2 seats feature a 150 mm (6-inch) travel FOX Float H2O shock absorber, tuned for moderate to heavy sea conditions.

S2 Helm Seat (SW-S2-1200 / SW-S2-1300): Available in mid-back and high-back versions. Mounts on a riser box or storage box. Ideal for cabin boats in moderate to heavy seas.

S2 Flip Bolster Seat (SW-S2-1201 / SW-S2-1301): Enables the occupant to sit or stand, with a low mounting height. A popular choice for T-top and open cabin boat applications. Available with optional fore/aft slide and height adjustment.

S2 Drop-Down Bulkhead Mounted Seat (SW-S2-1202-BM / SW-S2-1302-BM): Shockwave’s most popular S2 seat. Bulkhead-mounted for a clean deck installation free of trip hazards. Perfect for walk-through cabin boats and T-top open boats.

Suspension Travel

The S3 series is built for the most demanding maritime operations, with a 200 mm (8-inch) travel FOX FLOAT H2O shock absorber and direct deck mounting. Ideal for open RHIBs and cabin boats operating at high speeds in severe sea conditions.

S3 Drop-Down Bolster Seat (SW-S3-T1202 / SW-S3-T1302): Shockwave’s most popular and versatile helm seat. A simple pull handle converts the seat from a seated to a standing bolster position. Available with an integrated folding footrest (FF2) that stows and deploys automatically with the base cushion.

S3 Lightweight Single Jockey Seat (SW-S3L-2410): Built for demanding applications and heavy sea conditions with improved performance and reduced weight. Deck mounted, with optional front and rear grab rails.

S3 Lightweight Dual Jockey Seat (SW-S3LD-2410): A space-efficient dual seating solution for open RHIBs. The aft seat folds down to maximise deck space. Available with wide or narrow backrest.

S5 Jockey Seat (SW-S5-2400): Shockwave’s most compact solution, ideal for refits and RHIBs. Lightweight and affordable, with an integrated suspension and seat frame to minimise weight. Equipped with an adjustable FOX air sprung shock with on-the-fly rebound adjustment. Quick and straightforward installation on a riser box or pedestal.

Technology and Quality

All Shockwave seats are constructed using 100% non-ferrous, marine-grade metals with corrosion protection that meets or exceeds military standards (MIL-STD-810G). Products are certified to ISO 2631, ASTM F1166-07, and NAVSEA specifications.

Shockwave’s ACCURIDE technology provides immediate confirmation that the FOX shock absorber is correctly set for the operator’s body weight, intuitive and effective for all users across all sea conditions.

Products are designed and manufactured in Canada in partnership with world-class suppliers including FOX Defence, Corbin Seats, Speedway Engineering, and IGUS.

Shockwave seats are trusted daily by Norwegian Special Forces, navies, coast guards, and rescue organisations around the world, a testament to their reliability in the harshest conditions on the planet.
